Jewish Lore - The Third Temple

In Jewish Lore, The Third Temple is a theoretical future Third Temple in Jerusalem that will be built on The Temple Mount, the same site where the Second Temple was destroyed nearly 2,000 years ago.

In the year 70 A.D. an invading Roman Army laid siege to Jerusalem and all but eradicated the Second Temple, leaving only the Western Wall standing.

Today that wall, called the Wailing Wall, is one of the holiest places for Jews who often go there to pray to their God, hoping he will be more merciful to them than he was to the temple.

Some Jews believe that The Third Temple will only built by the Jewish Messiah in a prophesied time period known as the Messianic Age.

This is a debated issue however as not all Jews believe in the literal existence of a Messiah.
